Lavender Purple X Naples Yellow ♥ My Summer Garden Look ♥ Summer 2013 Makeup Trends

I don't know if all you girlies have noticed, but I am seeing A LOT of colors on the runway and cosmetic ads this summer. The S13 catwalks are awash with very bold shadows, exaggerated doll like lashes and just neon everything lol. It seems to me the trends are quite extreme this season, it is either downright nude or extravagant audacious colors and for this look, I am choosing the latter.

Usually with my own personal makeup routine, I am actually quite conservative, going for the earthy tone shadows and light smoky eyes every time. However, even I am intrigued by all the pretty colors on the runway and makeup ads which inspired me to do this lovely summer garden look using the 2 biggest colors in trend, purple and yellow. For once, I am ditching the natural nude for a vibrant colorful look. The two major key points are to create bold pigmented blocks of colors and bold doll like lashes. The winged eyeliner is still huge this season so I am adding that in as well but instead of using black liquid liner, I chose a brown one to soften the look. Again, purple is also huge on the lips this summer so I opted for a sakura pink shade for my lips. This time, instead of writing a long and wordy essay, I tried videotaping my tutorial but please keep in mind this is my first time doing it and first time trying to edit a video too so please be kind. I know it's not the greatest but I tried my best. Sorry about the silence in the video. I am so camera shy and I just thought if I talked I wouldn't be able to focus on applying my makeup lol.

  2. Thank you so much Kathy! I really appreciate your kind words and encouragement; they really mean a lot to me since this is honestly my first video tutorial and I was afraid people will find the same flaws that I see with the clip =(. But I literally spent almost 2 whole days just trying to make it work. I'm sure I'll get better at it as I do more tutorials and hopefully, you'll continue visiting my blog <3
